We have had a busy month! The first weekend in March we traveled to Huntsville, AL for Hal and Katie's wedding! It was also my birthday weekend. We had an amazing time seeing our families and visiting with friends.
Then we were back in Charlottesville for a week before we left for our spring break trip to Costa Rica!! We left Saturday at noon and caught a flight out of BWI to San Jose, Costa Rica. We stayed in a hotel near the airport that night. Then on Sunday we got up and drove to Dominical, where we were staying the rest of the week. The toll road we were supposed to take was closed, so we took a "highway." In Costa Rica, highway means 'narrow, curvy, 2 lane road that winds up and down the mountain.' That was a fun drive with 5 people and everyone's luggage in this car:
But we did make it! And it was beautiful! Here are a few pictures from the house. There were 5 couples, including Temp and me, and we rented a 5 bedroom house with 3 pools! The view was amazing!
The first full day we were there we are calling the "Day of the Animals." The Murphy's woke up to a parrot flying into their window. And on the way to lunch we heard and saw howler monkeys in the trees. Then we came upon a 3-toed sloth (that we almost ran over because he blended in so well).
We really got a feel of what life in Costa Rica was like. Half of our group did the zip line canopy tour while the other half hiked through the national park. A few of the guys went deep sea fishing. Some took surfing lessons. We grocery shopped and cooked at home some nights. We ventured out to local restaurants on other nights. There was a restaurant/ bar right down the road from our house called the Jolly Roger. We had dinner there once. It was very "american." There were Steelers banners and flags everywhere. And the only food they served was pizza, wings, and burgers.

The next picture is the day we were leaving. You can see Chongo, the dog. The owners of the house lived at the top of the driveway. They had 2 dogs. Chongo visited frequently. He was a memorable part of our week!
Because Temp has 2 weeks for Spring Break, he left the next Wednesday to visit his grandparents in Sea Island. I worked.

Your spring break trip looks amazing and makes me very jealous that neither of us have a spring break anymore. It was great to see yall in Huntsville a few weeks ago!
