Wahoo!

We found out Wednesday night that Temp got accepted to business school at Darden (Virginia)!!! Wooo- hoooo!!! Although he is still waitlisted at Tuck (Dartmouth), we are going to plan on moving to Charlottesville. We will hear from Tuck anytime between March- July. If we get in there, we will have a decision to make. We have decided to cross that bridge IF we get to it!

Right now, we are in the process of deciding on plans for this spring and summer. We are hoping to spend some time with our friends and family before we move. We also have a lot to do to get ready for the move. We have to find somewhere to live. I need to find a job up there. We have to pack our stuff! (Yuck!) We'd also like to take a trip to Greece!

We want to thank all of our families and friends for their support during this entire process. We know they are all excited for us, but sad to see us go. We love you all very much!

Just so you know...

There seems to be some speculation about why we started this blog. I guess most people start blogs when they have children so that distant family can keep up with pictures and stories. That is not why we started this blog. Sorry to disappoint some of you but we are still a couple of years away from having any children. The real reason we started this blog cannot be stated at this time. Hopefully we will know something in the near future and will be able to "spill our guts." Until then...it's just a waiting game. That's why I don't have much to post yet...

As for now, please pray for us...

The joys of teaching!

I love teaching! I didn't last year, but this year's class is the best I've ever had in my teaching career! This year, I'm not stressed at times I should be stressed, like Christmas for example. Temp even notices the difference in my attitude and stress level. Here are some reasons I love teaching this year:
(Remember, these are 6 year olds!)

Conversation between 2 of my first grade students:
Girl 1: Guess what? My stepdad, John*, said I couldn't call him John anymore!
Girl 2: Why?
Girl 1: I don't know. He wants me to call him sir or Mr. Smith*! I have been calling him that since he married my mom and that was like 3 years ago! He said if I called him that again he'd kick me out of the house. I keep forgetting and calling him John!
Girl 2: oh.
Girl 1: I know! I mean, where am I going to live!

*names have been changed (I know, very cliche. But I would like to keep the job I am gushing about!)

This comes from another classroom:
Girl student comes back from the bathroom with a very worried look on her face. She is almost in tears when she tells the teacher that she needs to see the nurse. The teacher asks why and her very emotional response is "My poop is stuck in my butt!"

Haha! I will add more as they come to me!

First Blog

Hi!

This is my first "go" at a blog! My husband, Temp, and I live in Birmingham, Al. We live in the community of Homewood and love it! We don't have any children, but we do have two dogs. Millie is a black lab and pit bull mix. Lucy is a bird dog mix. We rescued them both from the pound. They are both almost 2 years old. We are enjoying our life as a married couple with no children right now, but they are definitely in our future!
